Big Winds for Your Portfolio

The sky looks something out of a Blade Runner movie today.
It is sort of a blood red hue against a grey-ash backdrop with strange little snowflakes that don't melt.
Therefore, the Big Santa Ana winds have stirred up the flames in the foothills, and the choking ash is raining down like a winter blizzard. Contrary to what "the news" will say, this is normal. Fires are actually down about 80% from where they were in the 1930's.

Ultimately, these winds and fires are terrible for people, but it helps the forest survive and thrive.
Likely it'll bounce back better than ever just like it has for millions of years.
Results will be that all that beetle infested wood and undergrowth will be cleared out for a new generation of trees that grow towards the life giving light.
Lately, that's the metaphor I've been using as I slowly clear out my old trading strategies and replace them with newly discovered ones.
Normally I don't do this for a period of years, but my new Ai strategy builder has been finding brand new edges in the markets I trade. One of the things I've been trying to do is come up with a new swing trading model (trading with about a 5-day holding period has a serious edge).
Additionally, my team also managed to implement our new multiple in-sample/ out-of-sample testing ranges and add a bunch of new indicators which helps crack the code on big cap stocks in the S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100.
Long story short, not only was the test amazing, but the out of sample (data the computer doesn't optimize on) showed a 144% gain for 2020.
That's not too shabby!
Well, It's funny because around this time last year, I was telling our team and some close clients that I believe we'd be looking at 100%+ annual gains if the Ai does what I think it could do.
Mission accomplished.
As a trader, it's good to continually improve.
Whether that's through re-optimizing the parameters of your strategy, or scrapping them altogether and discovering new ones is up to you.
