See Strategy MillNot just raw return.
Raw return can fool you. A strategy can shoot up fast, but painful drawdowns can make it hard to trade in the real world.
PB Score = Contest Return × √((100 − Max Drawdown) × 0.01)
Clear rules. Locked submissions. No hindsight.
Each entry must follow the contest requirements below. Once submitted and accepted, the strategy is locked and cannot be edited, replaced, or resubmitted.
One submission per person
Each member may submit only one official contest entry.
At least 10 strategies
Each entry must include a minimum of 10 individual strategies.
Weights total 100%
The multi-strategy weights must add up to exactly 100%.
Stocks, ADRs, and ETFs
Stocks and ADRs must have a market cap of at least $1 billion. ETFs may include long, leveraged, and inverse ETFs.
Limit order setting
The “Limit Order Must Be Exceeded” setting must be enabled in Portfolio Boss.
Locked after submission
No edits, no do-overs, and no changing the rules after the fact.
Why the $1 billion market cap rule?
For stocks and ADRs, it keeps the contest from becoming a penny-stock fantasy contest where tiny, illiquid names can create backtests that look good on paper but are difficult to trade in the real world.
Why require the limit price to be exceeded?
In real trading, a touched limit price does not guarantee a fill. Requiring the limit price to be exceeded helps make testing more realistic and reduces the chance of inflated results.
